Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14, 1980) was an American performer, actor as well as a dancer. Her first roles on Broadway included in productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in a Play. Annaleigh, Tony Award-winning actress and director has spent most of her professional career working alongside famous directors and actors both on stage and screen. Ashford is scheduled to be as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani, in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently working for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will be aired on Disney DTC as an Hulu Original. Ashford will return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The same team that created Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the helm of the show. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. Ashford was the main character in two seasons on CBS Comedy B Positive. Also, she was a part of the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Her additional Broadway credits includes Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and her first role as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and currently splits the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
