Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of her four siblings, was born on the 8th of August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de Domme. Her parents, who are a dental doctor as well as a teacher at school were supportive and encouraged by her initial passion for drama and theatre. The initial goal of her of becoming a specialist in monkeys was replaced by a desire to learn about drama and theater. Her rise to fame as a young actress was rapid and accompanied by her early successes. It was only at the age of 1999 the year she first began performing professionally. After her studies, Tautou was a participant in the French talent scouting television programme Jeunes Premiers. Tautou was a member of the church as well as the Institut Catholique de Paris during her early years, but is now separating herself from the aforementioned societal influences. She pursued a modelling career along with her acting career. She is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel frequently referred to as the Chanel Muse. An avid photographer, she produced a recent exhibition during the Arles International Festival that was titled Superficial. Her work focuses on celebrity as well as the fame. Also, it features a series self-portraits and a focus on journalists that have been watching Tautou's career since her dramatic popularity after Amelie. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and international fame with her debut role in the role of the film Le Fabuleux Destin de l'Amelie Poulain. Amelie is an international box office success and recognized at many awards events around the globe. It's the biggest French film in the history of French language to be made to be released in the US. The film's success brought Tautou into a wide range of roles, from British dramas as Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
